Hello sweet friends,
I hope you all are well, even with the state of the world. I know for me, during uncertain times, that feel scary and full of chaos, I turn in and focus on the things I can control. Which is my home, taking care of the people and things I love. Still making nourishing meals, not letting messes pile up, etc. I also rely heavily on the Lord for comfort and guidance. So with that said, I wanted to share some home finds I have been loving lately.
I don’t know about you, but I unfortunately don’t live in a cozy cottage on some land, though I desperately wish that I did. I live in almost the opposite, a super modern apartment complex with white walls and zero charm lol. If it were up to me, I would probably have no white walls, have wallpaper and bead board, lots of cozy rugs, and soft armchairs. Oh, and a fireplace. That to me would feel more like a cottage that has charm. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful for my small home and sanctuary that it provides, but because it lacks all of the things I love, I have had to add those elements myself. Through furniture choices, but also little decorative items.
Like a table runner that lives on my island, candles and candlesticks on every surface, soothing art of landscapes, natural fiber napkins, and towels. Ceramic mugs that hold warmth and look pretty on the counter. Wood and antique touches in utensils and vases. And adding some pattern where I can, like pillows or throw blankets. All of these things make my very modern apartment feel more like a cozy, quaint cottage. I have added some items I have purchased myself above.
