Hello loves, Happy Thanksgiving week! I hope you all get some lovely time off and get to spend it with friends and family.
Autumn seems to be slipping away quickly as the leaves have almost all dropped and we are in the thick of early darkness now and have very cold temperatures. It’ll come as no surprise that I feel some melancholy about the Autumn season coming to a close. But it teaches us to let go, to lean into the seasons and the passing of time, and to make way for the new.
Soon, it’ll be the countdown to Christmas and the holidays will be in full swing and although I wish autumn would stick around a little longer, I am starting to feel that flutter of excitement for the holidays. The glow and twinkle of a Christmas tree, drives around the neighborhood looking at all the lights, the smell of fresh wreaths and garland, and warm hands holding hot chocolate. There is a different kind of magic wrapped up into December and I hope to make it a cozy one.
And as always, I’ve included some photos that are inspiring me as of late. Bags of books, the beginnings of decorating for Christmas (I love the simplicity of how they have been decorated in those photos), outfits I hope to put my spin on, fair isle sweaters ( I just thrifted one that’s gorgeous), frosty dog walks with Auggie, and giving my apartment a more cottage-y feel by adding some wallpaper. I love the dark green floral wallpaper above and think I want to add it to my bedroom. If I do, I’ll be sure to share!
Enjoy the warmth this week brings and try to not get overwhelmed by the millions of sales that are being blasted your way. It certainly overwhelms me, so this year I actually have taken IG off my phone and am not looking or posting on it. To help curb the overwhelm and feelings of “needing to buy”. I am sending gratitude & hugs your way,
M
