Happy November sweet friends! I hope you all had a wonderful October and Halloween. My October mainly consisted of packing. I just moved into a new cozy apartment with my sweet Auggie (my 4month old puppy if you’re new here). I always begrudgingly let go of October anyone else? It is truly my favorite month but I do feel November is often overlooked as people jump straight into Christmas. But November is actually the most autumnal where I am and I find it to be wholesome and incredibly cozy. So I will be leaning into that and the rest of the autumn season and will be holding off on any holiday decorating.
Now onto more important news Welcome to Whimsy and Willow aka my new blog name. It’s the same ol’ me but I am no longer Laughter Over Lattes. Some of you might care others maybe not but I thought I would share why I decided to change my name, some back story, and what’s to come. Let’s start with some backstory, I thought of the name Laughter over Lattes 4 almost 5 years ago and adored the concept around those words for my blog. I wanted this to be a space where we could chat over lattes about all the early 20’s things. Starting a career, fashion, makeup, etc. But here I am in my later 20’s now and am a very different person than I was then. I no longer feel authentic in keeping that name when I want to share different things than I once did.
Feeling these things and knowing if I wanted to continue to write on my blog something needed to change. This brought me to Whimsy and Willow. If you follow my IG (@spoonfulsofcozy) you know I have been on a journey this year to really lean into slow and seasonal living. Slower fashion, leaning into each season’s offerings, not wearing burnout like a badge, honoring my chronic illness, and creating. This process has been challenging and also deeply healing. With that, I knew I needed to allow myself to truly be this new version and shed things I was holding onto that were in the past like laughter over lattes.
So what now? I have hinted about some of these changes in past posts but the changes aren’t too drastic because at the core there are certain things like fashion, nourishing food, books, and creating a cozy home that will always inspire me. So those will still be at the forefront and ever-present but with different perspectives like slow fashion instead of fast, thrifting, decorating seasonally and naturally, etc. I will also be sharing much more about my journey of slow living. How I am going about it in a modern and online world, the challenges, the benefits, and more. I hope you’ll want to continue to be here alongside these changes and with me as I grow.
I might even add a little shop to this space where you could purchase my thrifted items, a curation of clean and nontoxic household supplies, and more! Let me know if you’d be interested in that hosted here or on a separate shop page.
All my love,
M
